The Glasshouses, Langside Avenue.
The Southside Festivals entertainment venue of choice. Access to this beautiful venue can be gained from 3 location:
- Park entrance on Langside Avenue (across from the Ivory).
- Park entrance over from the Battlefield monument.
- Park entrance on Langside Road (across from the Victoria Infirmary.
Once you enter the park the Glasshouses are a short walk along the path parallel to either
Landside Road or Langside Avenue. The first indication that you are in close proximity to the building is when you arrive at the ornate wrought iron gates. These mark the entrance to the grounds of the building and are themselves quite beautiful. Once in the building visitors are often overwhelmed by the surroundings that mark the entrance to the main hall. Surrounded on both sides by sculptures and a large selection of tropical plants, a bridge and ornate fish pond stocked with some very large koi carp. The main hall is also very impressive and is flanked by selection of fine plants and comfortable seating.
